danzbuddies doing Charity Work this Christmas

This Christmas, our danzbuddies were very active in doing Charity Work for the needy , the underprivileged and the disadvantaged. Danzbuddy Alan Khoo led a group of our Sunday danzbuddies to perform at various Homes for the Aged over two weeks.... Lending a helping hand to Tanglin CC WEC in their 'Yellow Ribbon' donation project were many danzbuddies who attended the 'Yellow Ribbon' Dance Party on December 12th. Many of the danzbuddies donated various items for donation to the HighPoint Thrift Shop run by ex-offenders...... The danzbuddies were also out in full support of the Charity Wine Tasting Event taking place at 'chocolate' the wine bar KC also was doing his bit at the Jamiyah Children Home - joining other line dance instructors and SRC personnel and members in viewing the Computer Lab at the Jamiyah Home which is being developed with the $45,000 raised through the recent SRC Charity Line Dance event at the Padang...... Little do you realise that whatever amount each of you had contributed had gone a long way to help the Jamiyah Home.........I know, 'cos I saw it with my own eyes on this visit.. So, a BIG THANK YOU to all danzbuddies for helping out in all the above Charity events - we are proud of you and your unstinting support ......"do what you can for the needy while you still can...."

danzbuddies wednesday Class - new dances

hi danzbuddies,

here are details of new dances we will be sharing this week:

- ' And I Love You So' by Lily Iguchi. 32 count, 4 wall, intermediate level. This dance won 1st place at Division 3 in the choerography competition at the recent Vegas Dance Explosion event. Nice song by Elvis Presley. A slow and easy going dance.

- 'Love Ya' by Kate Sala and Robbie McGowan Hickie. 64 count. 2 wall, intermediate level. Another well choreographed dance from Kate and Robbie. Dance goes well with the 'Love Me' song from Justin Bieber.

-' Soluna-' by Sophia Christiansen. 64 count, 2 wall, intermediate level. Nice samba beat dance. Good song 'Soluna' by Los Pinguos. The 64 count routine may seem daunting, but is actually quite easy to manage.......

danzbuddies trip to Shenzhen & Macau - Part 2

Saturday, 28 November 2009

It's Day 3 and we were back at the Laurel Restaurant to enjoy their nice breakfast dishes - our favourites were the various types of 'pau', especially their 'special cream pau'..... After breakfast, we headed to the shuttle bus station to catch the bus ride to the Queen Spa - an amazing spacious 6-storey recreational complex where we spent the rest of the morning enjoying the great varieties of services on offer - foot reflexology, body massage, hot bath, relaxation lounge with free fruits and drinks....... Back to the Louwo Plaza, we had lunch at another popular restaurant - the Lee Yuen Restaurant and after that......more shopping! For dinner we decided to go for the buffet spread offered at the Shangila Hotel......such a great variety of dishes were on offer, we had a hard time deciding what to eat! Sunday November and Day 4 it was - we decided to visit the hairdressers at the Luowo Plaza - this is no ordinary hairdressinf salon though - they offer facials, reflexology, body massage, and a whole array of hair treatment services. So, all of us went for whatever took our fancy...... After all the new hair-dos were done, we adjourned for lunch at Lee Yuen Restaurant , again.......yes that's how much we liked the food there.
After that, more 'last minute' shopping as we were to leave for Macau the next day........For Dinner we decided to splurge on a nice dinner at the Shangrila's '360' Restaurant - formerly a
revolving restaurant - it wasn't turning , but we still had some great views to go with nice steaks and wine. Monday, 30 November, 2009

It was time to check out of the Shangrila hotel and travel on to Macau via Chu Hai. We needed a fairly big bus by then as the number of luggage bags had doubled in number! It was a long overland journey from Shenzhen to Macau - but we had a delicious lunch break in between...... Finally, we arrived at the Chu Hai / Macau border and managed to dragged our many luggages through immigration and customs and to the shuttle bus which took us to the MGM Grand ....
