The 'Stewords Riverboat' at the Marina South Jetty was the perfect setting for a great Line Dance Party and how we enjoyed ourselves on the afternoon of 6th June 2009 - with line dancing , some cha cha cha, a sumptious 'Tex-Mex' buffet and wonderful company......
The day started with a visit to the Asian Civilization Museum to view the 'Kangxi Emperor Exhibition'. It was an eye-opening experience for many of us - the guides who took us through the exhibit were really good and provided lots of interesting stories about the Life and Times of the great Emperor Kangxi........one person we will regard with great respect from now on....what with his three Empresses and 55 'official' children..........
We also visited the Peranakan Museum with its ten galleries featuring all aspect of the Peranakan culture. Also on show was a special exhibit 'Baba Bling' - featuring many interesting displays of Peranakan jewellry. Then it was on to the Riverboat where the deejay and the dance floor beckon. We line danced, did the cha cha cha, had a good meal and really enjoyed the nice ambience of the Riverboat.
