During our week stay in Sydney, we were glad to be able to catch up with Gordon Elliott at one of his classes at the Neutral Bay Community Centre in North Sydney.........
The dances we did at the class were all simple and easy to learn.............what we found great about Line Dancing with this group in Australia - they are not bothered with the 'must learn all the latest dances' craze.........they dance to enjoy time together with friends, have a good workout and never mind if they can remember the steps or not.....
Chit-chat session after class seems to be the norm there.....
Gordon shared with us many of the dances he has been teaching recently - we really appreciate his being so generous in sharing with us......
We also visited 'The First Emperor' Exhibition at the Art Gallery of NSW to see the 'terracotta soldiers' on display.....
What a great Emperor that Qin Shihuang was - but, in the end , he is still remembered for his excesses and many horrible deeds...........what struck me most was this saying:
"The Emperor, never hearing his faults condemned,
is growing prouder and prouder while those below him
cringe in fear and try to please him with flattery and lies"
- Qin Court Scholars, Hou and Lu, 89 BCE
Saturday, and our last day in Sydney before we head home on the next morning - time to make another visit to the Blue Mountains. It was a nice liesurely 2-hour drive up to Katooma's Echo Point to see the 'Three Sisters' again.........
We had a rendezvous with April and Glen at the famous 'Bon Ton Cafe Restaurant' in Leura Town Centre.......where we had lunch under the trees
After that, we had a most interesting visit to a couple of 'Open Gardens' at Mount Wilson.......these are private home gardens which welcome visitors who pay a small fee to walk around - some of the gardens are big - 10 acres and more !
