danzbuddies New Year Eve Countdown Party 2009

31 December 2009

Some 100 danzbuddies and friends attended their very special New Year Eve Countdown Party at Tanglin CC on 31st December 2009. The theme for the night was 'Las Vegas Chinatown' and many turned up dresssed to the nines in Chinese outfits.
Participants were pleasantly surprised to see the real Casino Game tables, manned by a team of professionally trained croupiers. The Casino Games had been arranged by the Organising Committee which had sought and were given clearance from the CID Gambling Suppression Branch to have the casino games for entertainment.
The Police from Kampong Java Neighbourhood Police Centre were in attendance to share Crime prevention tips to the party- goers and to keep an eye on the proceedings...... We thank them for their generous support of the event with a funding contribution to Goldhill N C to help defray the party expenses.
The bartender came on duty and was kept quite busy serving the wine, and whiskey soda..... Dinner served was a sumptuous buffet spread, catered from our regular caterers - PINES Catering Service ....... they always served up a good meal and did not disappoint us this time. We helped May to celebrate her birthday and members of the Goldhill Ukulele Band were on hand to sing and entertain the crowd......... There were many winners in our Lucky Draw segment with each winner getting valuable NTUC Fairprice shopping vouchers........ The party went into full swing - many danced the night away, many more got hooked at the roulette and card game tables while others just hang out, enjoying every moment...... All in all, we had a great enjoyable party - our thanks go to all those who helped in one way or another to make it a success. Special thanks to the croupiers from AGMI / Casino College who came to set up and operate the casino games.A big 'Thank you' also to danzbuddies Alan and William for all the nice photographs taken at the event. CHEERS TO MORE GOOD TIMES AHEAD.........

danzbuddies 'Mid-Autumn Festival' Celebration Party

Saturday, 3rd October 2009

We had a real blast of a party on Saturday at Tanglin CC with a hundred over danzbuddies and friends turning up - many in 'oriental outfits' , to celebrate 'Mid-Autumn Festival' - and, this year the traditional Mid-Autumn full-moon night happened to fall on 3rd October. We were all in a celebratory mood and made an effort to have a truly magical and enchanting evening of feasting, dancing and fun!
The Chinese Tea stall was a great hit - it attracted many repeat visitors who came by to enjoy many a cup of 'pu-er', 'jasmine', 'longjing' and 'rose' tea brewed to perfection by the 'Tea Master' in attendance.

Dinner time - and everyone sat down to enjoy a delicious 'nasi lemak' dinner catered by Haja Monah Kitchen from Newton Food Centre. As always, its 'thumbs up' for a great meal.......

After dinner, we had the honour of having Choreographer Crystal Lee going up on stage to introduce and walk through her dances - 'Pattycake Waltz' and 'Tweety Rock', both easy dances for beginners which were well received by the crowd.
Once again, many danzbuddies came forward to help with the dee jay service - a big 'Thank You' to Maizie, Tang, Lay Kuan, Richard and William for helping out. We also thank all danzbuddies for the support and assistance in making the party such an enjoyable one -

"Together, we ALL make it happen!"

REMINDER ! Our next 'theme party' is planned for November 7th - we are celebrating 'Deepavali' and will have a 'Bollywood Theme'. Keep this date free...... for another FUN PARTY.
