danzbuddies Wednesday Class - new dances

hi danzbuddies,

here details of the dances we shall be sharing this week:

- 'Out & Jump' by Rep Ghazali. A Part "A' and Part 'B' type intermediate level dance. 4 walls, 32 counts for both parts. Song used is a great number by Lou Bega 'Jump Into My Bed'. Definitely going to be a popular dance...

- 'It's For You' by Gordon Elliott. 32-count, intermediate level dance. A 2-wall dance but with two restarts on walls 3 and 6, it turns into a 4-wall dance. Good song 'It's For You' by Niamh Kavanag. Nice choreography, steps go well with the song.....

- 'Peek a Boo' by Maggie Gallagher. 64-count, 4 wall, intermediate level dance, using a nice number from Cosmo 4 - "Peek A Boo". Dance routine is well crafted with several cute steps which should go well...

We shall also be sharing our friend Crystal Lee's new "Papa Loves Mama" dance. We love the cha-cha-cha song version of the song used for the dance.

- 'Algo Sucedio' by Rep Ghazali. 64-count, 1-wall, intermediate level dance. One tag/restart at wall 4. Nice rumba-beat song, 'Algo Sucedio' by El Gringo. Steps are not difficult except for the somewhat complicated turns at wall 5.

- 'Wild Night' by Scott Schrank & Amy Christian-Sohn. 64-count, 2-wall, intermediate level dance. One restart at wall 5. Using a great country number - 'Wild Night' by John Mellencam. Steps are well choreographed and go well with the song, especially during the 'Elvis pose' parts.

danzbuddies at Arts Festival Mass Linedance Event

Sunday 13 June 2010

After our three-hour Charity Linedance session at Jurong Spring CC (see next blog), we headed to the Marina Barrage to join our other danzbuddies at the Singapore Arts Festival Mass Linedance event, organised to mark the closing of the Arts Festival..............

A total of some 1200 line dancers performed at the event, held at two locations - at the Central Promontory where the CLDAS dancers were and at the Marina Barrage where the Singapore Line Dance Society dancers had gathered.........

The dances in the playlist were well chosen and all the linedancers were happy dancing away to every song played - many non-linedancers and tourist gamely joined in the party

For us, it was a heart-warming moment to see the hundreds of line dancers doing our own choreography "Sexy Cha Cha"........

The party was in full swing when the Guest 0f Honour, Acting Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts, Mr. Lui Tuck Yew arrived to join the party....... we could see that he was enjoying himself......

We had a chance to chat with him about the wonderful benefits of linedancing and he had only enthusiastic and encouraging words to say about this great past time..........so, carry on line dancing!
