danzbuddies Wednesday Class - New Dances

hi danzbuddies,

Details of the dances we will be sharing are as follows:

- 'Just One Look' - the version we are doing is choreographed by Dee Musk using the song by The Hollies. 32 count, 4 wall, beginner level. Very easy 'no stress' dance.

- 'You're So Vain' by Eva Pau. 58 count, 4 wall, intermediate level. Nice popular song by Carly Simon. Take note of errors in the stepsheet. Section 4 - 3/4 turn should be to the Right and the 1/2 turn is to the Left. Restart is NOT at the end of Walls 2, 4 , 6 and 8 but at end of 32 count...... A well choreographed dance, goes well with the song.....

- 'Holding On To Yesterday' by Peter & Alison. 32 count, 4 wall, high beginner level. Dances to nice song by Carrie Underwood & Randy Travis. Good dance routine with some interesting turns....

- 'Look What They've Done' by Alan Haywood. 32 count, 4 wall, Easy Beginner level. Another very easy dance 'no stress' dance. Old-timers will remember the song by the New Seekers - "Look What They've Done To My Song Ma"......

danzbuddies Deepavali Celebration Party

Saturday, 7th November 2009

Our danzbuddies and friends, numbering more than 100 attended an enjoyable 'Bollywood' themed line dance party on Saturday. Many came in their 'Bollywood Best' - a big 'Thank You' to those danzbuddies who turned up in indian outfits.......... Our party dance list of familiar favourites and easy dances kept everybody on the dance floor. Rosemary shared the 'Baby Bolly' dance which was well received by most of those present
We soon had everyone dancing it to the 'Jai Ho' song......hand movements and all

Time for dinner and the fish head curry and rice were delivered to each table where our danzbuddies started digging in right away - by the time we went around, there were mostly fish bones left in each pot......it was another 'thumbs up' for this novel idea of serving fish head curry to let everybody feel the Deepavali mood. We thank our friends from the Tanglin Indian Executive Committee and the Tanglin CC Bhangra Dance Group for join us in this joyous occassion. A big 'Thank You' to Philip and Doris for their help, also to Alan and William for taking the photographs, all those who help with the DJ service. Most of all - thanks you all danzbuddies who attended the party, especially those who came in their indian outfits.....together we all make it happen.........

danzbuddies Wednesday Class - new dances

hi danzbuddies,

REMINDER - We start a new 8-module session this Wednesday. Let your friends know if they wish to join the class. Please bring your class fees if you have not done so.......

Dances to be shared this week are as follows:

- 'Baby Bolly' by Maureen Bullock. 32 count, 4 wall, beginner level. 1 tag and restart on wall 6. There are many dances using the 'Jai Ho' song - we find this simple version to be the best and easiest to do. Love the various hand movements, really go well with the song. A great dance for our 'Bollywood ' theme party this weekend!

- 'Solo Por Amor' by Peter Klutke. 64 count, 4 wall, intermediate level. Danced to a nice 'latin-beat' song 'Por Amor' by Thalia. Although this is a 64-count dance the steps are easy with a few mirrorred and repeat steps. Should go well with the class.

- 'Break The Dawn' by Neville Fitzgerald, Paul McAdam & Peter Metelnik. 48 count, 4 wall, intermediate level. A popular dance, good music by Michelle Williams - 'We Break The Dawn'. Steps are not the standard, usual type, not easy but should be not too much of a problem either.

- 'Cumbia Semana' by Ira Weisburd. 48 count, 1 wall, beginner level. Cute song - 'Fin De Semana' by Fito Olivares. Steps are real easy - another of those 'no-stress' type dance.
