Feb 1st 2009. Our danzbuddies had a great time at this year's post-Chingay Parade Mass Line Dance Party held at Connaught Drive from 10.30 pm to after 2.00 am. The event attracted well over a thousand line dancers, all of whom had received tickets to watch the Chingay Parade which was held from 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm
Gracing the occasion was Mr. Lim Boon Heng , Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Deputy Chairman of the People's Association. Mr Lim was greeted by members of the Organising Committee, including Rosemary, all of whom accompanied him as he walked around and mingled with the dancers.
Mr. Lim and other big-wigs from the PA saw for themselves how much the line dancers were enjoying ourselves. The atmosphere was electrifying, the mood was joyous, everyone had a smile on their faces and it was clear that all present were having a great time.Our danzbuddies played host to 20 teenagers from the Jamiyah Childrens Home, with the Goldhill N C Dance Club sponsoring the bus transport to and from the Parade location. The children were excited and thoroughly enjoyed themselves, watching the floats and parade of dancers from the prime location secured by danzbuddies who had come early.
Our good location allowed us to get up-close with the Parade performers and allow for lots of hand-shakes and photo shoots with them.
Being able to watch the fireworks from so near was an awesome experience.
