danzbuddies 'Yellow Ribbon' X'mas Party - Part 1

Saturday December 11th 2010

It was time again for our annual 'Yellow Ribbon' Charity Dance Party held in aid of the High Point Thrift Shop operated by ex-offenders. The event, as usual was organised jointly with Tanglin CC WEC and attracted a full house of 110 participants.








Everybody was in a 'Merry Christmas' mood........




The DJ got the party to a quick start and soon had everybody on the dance floor....




Our Guest of Honour - Minister Lui Tuck Yew arrived right on time and was given a rousing welcome......

Tanglin WEC Chairman Alice Siew went on stage to welcome the Minister and presided over the official handing over of the donated items to the representative of High Point Thrift Shop.

After that it was dinner time, but before that, our danzbuddies Ukulele Group led everybody in a Christmas sing-along session.........

The Minister delighted the crowd as he went around with Santa Clause to wish everyone 'Merry Christmas'......

After the Gift Presentation Ceremony and the dinner, our Guest of Honour and Santa joined us for a 'Electric Slide' dance........

There was a lot of dance action on the dance floor

Every one enjoyed great fellowship and the non-stop merry-making.....and had a great time taking pictures with Father Christmas and with their danzbuddies......

we are pleased to see Mimi and her three kitties doing well - they are growing up fast and are starting to run around quite playfully. At this stage of their life, the kittens are really cute and adorable........

- 'Wonderful' by Barry Andracchio & Beverley Booth. 32 count, 4 wall, intermediate level dance. Danced to a Michael Buble rendition of 'Some Kind of Wonderful' - a very nice song!

- 'Come Rain Come Shine' by Francien Sittrop. 32 count, 4 wall, beginner level dance with 2 tags and 1 restart. Using the popular song 'Have You Ever Seen Rain' - the version recommended is by Dr Victor & Rasta Rebels.

- 'Boom Shakalaka!' by Levi Hubbard. 32 count, 4 wall, intermediate level dance. No Tag and No restart ! Great dance track from Apache Indian - Boom Shack-A-Lack'

- 'Crazy Bells' by Lee Yoke Pheng. 64 count 4 wall beginner level fun dance. Danced to a great piece of Christmas music by Crazy Frog....'Jingle Bells'

Please be reminded about our ' Yellow Ribbon' Party on Saturday December 11th -

- dress theme is 'danzbuddies t-shirt' (your own choice of colour) ;

- bring your unwanted used items for donation to the High Point Thrift Shop;

- our Guest of Honour, Mr Lui Tuck Yew will arrive at 6.45 pm and will join us in singing a couple of Christmas songs, accompanied by our danzbuddies Ukulele Band.

- 'Test Of Faith' by Rep Ghazali. 64 count, 2 wall, intermediate level dance.One Restart on wall 2. Song used is 'Calling Your Name' by E-Type.

- 'Where Your Music Takes Me' by Roly Ansano. 32 count, 4 wall , intermediate level dance with 2 Restarts. An easy dance with nice dance steps that go well with the song 'I'll Go Where The Music Takes Me' by Tina Charles.

- 'Spanish Cha' by Mayee Lee. 32 count, 4 wall, beginner level dance using a great latin track 'Te Quiero' by Mestezzo. No Tag, No Restart. A nice 'no stress' dance.
