Appreciation Dinner for danzbuddies

Friday, July 3, 2009

It will be a night to remember for a long time to come - what a blast we had on board the Stewords Riverboat at Marina South. The ocassion.......the Appreciation Dinner given to danzbuddies and friends for the loyal support given to us in the last 10 years at Tanglin CC Dance Club. We started with 8 members in July 1999, today we are more than 80 in membership - its been a great journey we had as danzbuddies and we sincerely thank all our members for making it so enjoyable and fun......

Rosemary kicked off the party with a few words of 'Welcome' and 'Thanks' and then it was dance, dance, dance!

Dinner time - and everyone sat down to enjoy their dinner choice from 10 great Tex-Mex menu items. There was the BBQ Herb Chicken, Grilled Dory, Salmon Velcruz, Grilled Chicken Pasta, San Antonio Pork Chop and BBQ Baby Back Ribs, a big favourite for the night.....and more.
Then, it was time to pop the 'champagne on ice'.......ten bottles, no less - and to cut the Anniversary cake.
Representatives from the Wednesday class, Friday danzbuddies and the Sunday danzbuddies groups came forth to help pop the champagne, a nice pink rose cremant from Burgundy.......And so, it was 'yum seng' time and drink, and drink we all did.............
Some lucky guy even had the chance to take a bottle of the champagne home - in a lucky draw.
More dancing continued, we even went downstairs to do a demonstration of various line, cha cha cha, rock 'n' roll, disco rock and other dances to the regular guests of the Riverboat Restaurant. This was at the request of the guests who were fascinated by the way the danzbuddies were enjoying themselves with their non-stop dancing upstairs on the Upper Deck......
A big 'Thank You' for the gifts received from the danzbuddies.........
We gave thanks to Daryl Saw from the Riverboat, and also wish the Riverboat's Tex-Mex Restaurant Group best wishes as they are also celebrating their 10th Anniversary.
And a big 'Thank You' to Daryl's mum, Alice for being such a great hostess - we appreciate her patience with us all and for putting up with all our nonsense.....

A big big 'Thank You' to Alan Khoo and William Mok for supplying all these great photo shoots.
It took a lot (of time, money and hard work) putting the event together, but the experience of our night together is priceless.
