Macau Trip June 7 - 10 Part II

Tuesday, June 8th 2010

This was the day scheduled for us to attend the G2E asia (Global Gaming Expo Asia) Gaming Management Certificate Programme. We arrived early to register for our badges and had the chance to take another look-see of the beautiful Venetian before settling down for the full-day seminar ......

In the afternoon, I had to take time off to visit the Macau University to meet with the Director of the Institute for the Study of Commercial Gaming, Dr Davis Fong and his staff. Had a good meeting on possible collaboration between the ISCG and our AGMI.....

Back at the Venetian I went to join Alan and the rest to meet with Cecilia Leong who brought us to a nice out-of-the-way beach-side Portuguese restaurant at No. 9 Praia de Hac Sa called 'Fernando's' - supposedly one of the best Portuguese restaurants in Macau. And by the look of the 'full house' crowd there, it certainly looks like it......
we had a whooping meal of clams, pork ribs, sardines, suckling pig, prawns,etc....really a great meal.....

Wednesday June 9th 2010
It was 'Opening Day' for the G2E Asia and we joined the roomful of dignitaries in a glittering Opening Ceremony with lion dance, speeches, Award Presentation, etc......

Next, we took a tour of the Exposition Hall where we saw the hundreds of exhibitors showing off all kinds of stuff catering to the Gaming industries - it must be the biggest variety of slot machines I've ever seen......

We then attended the Roundtable Luncheon and managed to do a bit more networking. It was great to be able to meet so many industry people, in particular the people from PAGGOR, Phillippines and from Naga World Casino, Cambodia.......

All in all, it was a good trip - we made some very good contacts, initiated many discussions about future collaborations and learned about the latest developments in the Gaming world..........
