Visit to Chinatown with Kelvin - Home for Vacation

Sunday, 8th May 2011

We went for dinner and a short walk around Chinatown with Kelvin who is home from Orlando for a short vacation. The Lion Dance troupe was waiting for us when we arrived - what a surprise ! But then no - 'I stand corrected', they were actually waiting for the MM and his fellow Tanjong Pagar GRC MPs who were coming for a 'Thank You for Voting For Us' tour of the area .

We dropped by the famous "Tai Chong Kok" Traditional Bakery for some mooncakes and 'tau sar peah'......

and ended up at the 'King of the Kings Durian' Stall to get a 'Mountain Cat' durian - we got only one and coughed up $35 for it. But then back home, when we were tucking into the 'mao shan wang mini durain feast' - it was agreed - the amount paid for it was worth it....!
