danzbuddies 'Back to Skool' Party - 23rd Jan 2010

Saturday, 23rd January 2010

We want to say a big 'Thank You' to all our danzbuddies and friends for cominig to our 'Back to Skool' party - we appreciate the effort put in by so many danzbuddies who came in their school uniforms....

We enjoyed dancing many of the older dances - they brought back lots of good memories of our early years together - when dances were easy to learn and nice to do, when there was no getting all stressed up with the need to play 'catch up' on new dances which often fall by the wayside only weeks after you learned.
Moving forward, we will continue to be selective in introducing the type of new dances to our members and our parties will always have a good mix of easy dances, old favourites and the really popular new dances.
A reminder - our next party will be held on SUNDAY February 28th , 'Chap Goh Meh'- It will be another interesting theme party , so don't miss it.
A big Thank You' also to Alan Khoo for taking and sending us the photographs.........

danzbuddies Deepavali Celebration Party

Saturday, 7th November 2009

Our danzbuddies and friends, numbering more than 100 attended an enjoyable 'Bollywood' themed line dance party on Saturday. Many came in their 'Bollywood Best' - a big 'Thank You' to those danzbuddies who turned up in indian outfits.......... Our party dance list of familiar favourites and easy dances kept everybody on the dance floor. Rosemary shared the 'Baby Bolly' dance which was well received by most of those present
We soon had everyone dancing it to the 'Jai Ho' song......hand movements and all

Time for dinner and the fish head curry and rice were delivered to each table where our danzbuddies started digging in right away - by the time we went around, there were mostly fish bones left in each pot......it was another 'thumbs up' for this novel idea of serving fish head curry to let everybody feel the Deepavali mood. We thank our friends from the Tanglin Indian Executive Committee and the Tanglin CC Bhangra Dance Group for join us in this joyous occassion. A big 'Thank You' to Philip and Doris for their help, also to Alan and William for taking the photographs, all those who help with the DJ service. Most of all - thanks you all danzbuddies who attended the party, especially those who came in their indian outfits.....together we all make it happen.........
