Was nominated as one of Moulmein Constituency's Family Life Champions to attend a 'Family Life Retreat' held at the YWCA's Fort Canning Lodge Pool Terrace. Organised by Focus On The Family, the one day seminar/workshop had as its theme 'Fostering Resilient Families in Times of Crisis'.
The programme included a talk by Family Life Coach and Author, Simon Sim on 'The Singapore Family - Rising in Resilience'. This was followed by presentations by representatives from the NTUC Family Development Unit and MCYS on availability of funding and training resources.We had lunch at the YWCA's Cafe and then broke into Discussion Groups to share and discuss our Family Life promotion projects and the common problems encountered.
Many were surprised to learn about the great amount of funds available to companies and grassroot organisations for organising activities which promote Family Life and we came away from the seminar with many ideas of new projects to organise in future........
