danzbuddies welcome Peter Heath and South Australian Line Dancers

Sunday 11th July

Our Sunday danzbuddies, together with some of our Wednesday / Friday members turned up in full force to welcome Peter and Liz Heath on their return visit to Tanglin CC Dance Club over the weekend of July 10 to 12th 2010.......

We met them on their arrival at the Royal Hotel @ Queens on Saturday night and had a 'Welcome Dinner ' with them at the Singapore Recreation Club.....Members of the visiting entourage are (seen above from left corner in clockwise direction...) - Peter Heath, Liz Heath, Bev van der Stelt, Lesley McIntire, Sue Morrissey, Barbara Kroehn, Gloria Roberts, Shirley Steward.

On Sunday, 9.30 am, danzbuddies Alan, Margaret and Irene were good enough to help with transportation arrangements - meeting them at the hotel and bringing them to Tanglin CC.
First order of the day was breakfast and we presented a sumptuous 'Singapore Breakfast Buffet' which were enjoyed by the visitors and danzbuddies alike.

After that, it was time for the usual group photo taking......

Next was a presentation of 'welcome gift' to the Australians from us......

and presentation of wines and chocolates from the Australians to the danzbuddies

After that, it was down to some serious line dancing - we started with a couple of 'warm-up' dances - 'Lifetime Waltz' and 'Bicycle Waltz', and then Shirley Steward came on to teach us 'Pardon Me'.........
Next, Peter came on to show their new dance - 'Leave It Alone' which was well received.

Liz then took the floor to show us how to do 'My New Life'........

We followed up with many more dances - mostly those that were commonly danced by both groups

All too soon, it was noon time and we had to stop the dancing to have lunch - and again, we presented another sumptuous 'Singapore Lunch Buffet' - so much good food to eat, paired some great South Australian wine presented by the visitors - real yummy !

We also celebrated Alan Khoo's birthday - everyone joined in singing him the traditional 'Happy Birthday' song - we wish Alan all the best for the future......
and we would to thank him for taking all the photographs at this event.
