here are details of new dances we shall be sharing this week:

- 'Twist with the Fat Boys' by Roy Verdonk & Wil Bos. 80 count, 4 wall, phrased intermediate level dance. Great dance track used - "The Twist" by Fat Boys with Chubby Checker. Let yourself go and enjoy this fun dance !

- 'You Can Do Magic' by Dee Musk. 64 count, 2 wall, intermediate level dance.
Song used is 'You Can Do Magic' by Drew Seeley.

here are details of new dances we are sharing this week:

- 'El Diablo Anda Suelto' by Ayu Permana. 64 count, 2 wall , intermediate level dance. Nice latin number used for the dance "El Diablo Anda Suelto" by Rey Ruiz, song goes well with the dance.


- 'Tonight I'm Your Captain' by Rep Ghazali. 32 count, 4 wall, easy intermediate level dance with one easy tag at end of wall 6. Song used is "Your Captain Tonight" by Elena Gheorghe.


- 'Reggae Roads' by Jose Miguel Belloquevane, Roy Verdonk & Wil Bos. 32 count, 4 wall beginner level dance. we like the song used - "Take Me Home Country Roads"
done in Reggae beat by Toots & the Maytals.

Hi danzbuddies,

details of new dances we are sharing this week are as follows:


- 'Chi Balla' by Ira Weisburd. 32 count, 4 wall, beginner level dance. No tag, no restart. Using a nice polka rhythm song "Chi Balla' by Orchestra Mario Riccardi. Another easy 'no stress' dance from Ira.



- 'Doo Wah Diddy' by Michele Godard. 48 count, 4 wall, beginner level dance . Note the restart at wall 4. Great music used - DJ Otzi rendition of the classic song 'Doo Wah Diddy'



- 'Shame & Scandal In The Family' by Rep Ghazali. 64 count, 2 wall, easy intermediate level dance. Note the 3 tags at walls 2, 4 and 5. We love the song by Dr Victor & Rasta Rebels - a real fun number !

details of dances to be shared this week are as follows:



- 'Mamboritmo' by Ira Weisburd. 32 count, 4 wall, beginner level dance, no tags, no restarts . Accompanied by nice mambo music 'Ritmo Bueno' by Orchestra Bagutti. Dance steps are simple, but focus on proper timing and keeping count.




- 'Tennessee Waltz Supreme' another popular and simple dance by Ira Weisburd. 48 count, 4 wall beginner level dance. Using Rian Ungerer rendition of the old waltz favourite 'Tennessee Waltz'




-'Hi-A-Ma Cha' by Rachael McEnaney. 48 count, 2 wall, intermediate level dance. Using a great song - 'Hi-A-Ma Pata Pata' by Milk & Sugar featuring Mirian Makeba & Jungle Brothers. A lively cha cha dance!

Details of new dances we are sharing are as follows:

- 'Make It Hot' by Dee Musk. 32 count, 4 wall, intermediate level dance. No tag No restart. Song used is 'Fire' by M Dot Finley. A fairly easy dance - the dance steps go well with the music.



- 'We Own The Night' by Peter Metelnick & Alison Biggs. 32 count, 4 wall, intermediate dance with one restart during wall 4. Using the song 'We Owned The Night' by Lady Antebellum.




- 'Love 2 Dance' by Simon Ward. 64 count, 2 wall, intermediate dance with one Restart at wall 6. The song used is 'Rain Over Me' by Pitbull (featuring Marc Anthony).




Especially for our seniors, we will also be sharing an easy dance:




- 'Honey Honey Don't Stop' by Virginia Tsui. 32 count, 4 wall, beginner level dance. A simple-to-do dance using the song "Kiss Me Honey Honey" by The Deans.

hi danzbuddies,

here are details of dances we shall be sharing this week:

- 'Summer Love' by Maria Tao. 32-count, 4-wall, beginner level. Two tags at the end of walls 3 and 8. Music for the dance is a nice heavy-beat song 'Summer Love' by Tim Tim. Steps are basic - a 'no-stress' dance.

- 'Algo Sucedio' by Rep Ghazali. 64-count, 1-wall, intermediate level dance. One tag/restart at wall 4. Nice rumba-beat song, 'Algo Sucedio' by El Gringo. Steps are not difficult except for the somewhat complicated turns at wall 5.

- 'Wild Night' by Scott Schrank & Amy Christian-Sohn. 64-count, 2-wall, intermediate level dance. One restart at wall 5. Using a great country number - 'Wild Night' by John Mellencam. Steps are well choreographed and go well with the song, especially during the 'Elvis pose' parts.

- 'Wakira' by Maggie Gallagher. 32-count, 4-wall, easy intermediate level. Using the World Cup Theme Song 'Waka Waka' by Shakira.

We shall be reviewing the following 'Blast From The Past' dances:

- 'Dancin' Party by Geri Morrison. 64-count, 2-wall, intermediate level dance. Nice song 'Dancin Party' by Diamond Jack.

- 'Disco Remix' 32-count, 4-wall, beginner level dance. We shall be using the Venga Boys 'Boom Boom Boom Boom' song for the dance.

here are details of the dances we shall be sharing for this week:

- 'Sha-La-Lie' by Ross Brown. 32-count, 4-wall, beginner level . One tag at end of wall 8. Danced to a great Eurovision Song Contest song 'Ik Ben Verliefd' by Sieneke. A really easy 'no-stress' type dance.

- 'One Step Leads To Another' by Peter & Alison. 64-count, 2-wall, intermediate dance. One restart during wall 5. Song used is 'One Thing Leads To Another' by Vanessa Amorosi. A challenging dance with some syncopated steps but should be manageable with practice.

- 'Pyromania' by Jo & John Kinser, Mark Furnell. 64-count, 4-wall, intermediate level dance. One tag at the end of Wall 8. There is one tag at the end of wall 8. Nice song with heavy danceable beats by Cascada. Very popular dance at parties.

- 'Totoy Bibbo EC' by Dharry Ladiana. 32-count, 2-wall, beginner level dance. Tags are needed at the end of walls 8, 10 and 11. Nice Filipino song by Vhong Navarro. Song has a strong cha cha rhythm, makes you just wanna dance......

We shall also be revising the following dances taught at last Friday's jam session:

- 'Breaking Up Is Hard To Do' by Maria Tao. 32-count, 4-wall, beginner level. Tags to be done after walls 3 and 5. Great Carpenters song, very danceable.

- 'Something Special' by Scott Schrank & Tim German. 32-count, 4-wall, intermediate level. No tag and no restart. Song used is "That Don't Impress Me Much" by Shania Twain. Nice popular song - steps go quite well with the music.

danzbuddies Wednesday Class - dances to share

hi danzbuddies,

details of dances we shall be sharing this week are as follows:

- 'Double Dose' by Peter Jones. 32-count, 4-wall, beginner level dance. The song used is a great rock 'n' roll classic 'Rockin' Pnuemonia And The Boogie Woogie Flu'. Many artistes have recorded this song - we are using the version sang by Jeannie C Riley. Steps are easy to catch and they go well with the song.....

- 'Rock N Love' by Peter & Allison. 64-count, 4-wall, intermediate level. Danced to another nice Rock N Roll number - 'Bleeding Love' by The Baseballs. Although at 64 counts, the dance routine is fairly easy and should be no problem for all....

- 'MamboSA' by Ria Vos. 32-count, 4-wall, intermediate level dance. The song is "Wie Se Kiind is Jy" by Dr. Hook, a great mambo number! Music needs getting used to, but will grow on you after you manage the dance.

- 'Baby Doll Waltz' by Larry Bass. 48-count, 2-wall, waltz dance. Beginner level. Nice slow number - 'Shake Me, I Rattle' by Lisa Brokop. A 'no stress' dance......should stick with the line dancers for a long time to come.

With so much interest in South Africa we are bringing back:

- 'Mamma Afrika" by Gerard Murphy from way back in 2001. 32-count, 4-wall, intermediate level. Song used is 'Mamma Africa' by Two in One. A great classic.

danzbuddies Wednesday Class - dances to be shared


hi danzbuddies,

details of dances we are sharing this week are as follows:

- 'Wakira' by Maggie Gallagher. 32-count, 4-wall, intermediate level dance. Danced to the song 'Waka Waka' by Shakira. This is the song we'll be hearing a lot of in the coming months - its the official song for the 2010 Fifa World Cup....dance is fairly easy....not a fantastic choreography but we think it'll catch on....

- 'Homeward Bound' by Paul & Karla Dormstedt. 64-count, 4-wall, beginner level dance. Very nice song used - 'Take Me Home' by Tol & Tol. Although there are 8 sections in the dance routine, there are several 'mirrors' - so its really an easy dance.

- 'Yolanda' by Kate Sala & Robbie McGowan Hickie. Another great dance coming from Kate and Robbie......Although the step sheet is not yet available, the dance is already gaining popularity - steps are easy but well crafted to go with the beautiful song by Joe Merrick - 'Yolanda'. We're sure it'll be a big hit.

- 'Let's Do the Shake' by OS Ong. A phrased dance using a great cha cha number by Alice Ong. A great choreography - dance routine fits the song well. A good dance for all cha cha enthusiasts.

We shall also be sharing the following 'blast from the past' dance :

- 'Funky Cha Cha' by Barry Durand. 32-count, 4-wall, intermediate level dance. A classic still very popular at parties. The Kenny G number 'Havana' is song which makes the dance so enjoyable......

REMINDER - we start another 8-week module for our on-going class this Wednesday, 12th May, please bring along your class fees........

Dances we shall be sharing are as follows:

- 'Better Than Nada' by Wil Bos & Roy Verdonk. 32-count, 4-wall, beginner level line dance. Danced to a delightful number by Freddy Fender & Texas Tornados 'A Little Bit Better Than Nada'. Nice choreography with easy steps. There are two tags, to be done after walls 4 and 8, both at 12.00 o'clock wall.

- 'Skippers Daughter' by Louise Elfvengren. 32-count, 4-wall, beginner level. There are two restarts - at walls 3 and 7. Danced to the cute irish beer song 'Drunken Sailor' by Denis Sosson.

- 'KLAWS' by Rep Ghazali. 64-count, 2-wall, intermediate level. One restart at wall 3.Song is 'Stay With Me' by Alexander Klaws. A good, 'heavy-beat' song, dance routine goes quite well with it. The turnings may seem daunting, but are actually quite easy to manage.......do a 'walk, walk' for the full turn on section 7.

Our 'blast from the past' dances are as follows:

'Push' by Michele Perron. 32-count, 4-wall, intermediate level......a great dance.

'Hot Love' by Maggie Gallagher. 48-count, 4-wall, intermediate level dance. A 'hot' favourite in its time, still enjoys some popularity at parties.

Details of dances we are sharing this week are as follows.

The new dances are:

- 'Funky Fire Dance' by John Ng. 64 count, 2 wall, intermediate level. Danced to 'Fire' by 2NE1. A very popular dance on the party circuit. Good choreography with some really funky moves.....

- 'Fiesta' by Robbie McGowan Hickie. 64 count,4 wall, intermediate level. Another easy nice dance fro Robbie McGowan. Danced to a nice latin number 'Como Te Quiero Mi Amor' by El Simbolo. Looks like it will be a popular dance at parties in future......

- 'Ah Mei Ah Mei' by Emily Ding. 32 count, 4 wall, beginner level. Easy to execute dance steps that goes well with the nice mandarin song "Ah Mei Ah Mei".
- 'Chiki Cha Cha' by Liu Sum Loong. 32 count, 2 wall, beginner level. Danced to a great song that makes you really 'wanna dance' . Steps are easy - an enjoyable dance...

We bring back two nice classics which will be featured in our May 22nd party:

- 'Mickey' by Mike Yoong. 64 count, 4 wall, beginner level. Danced to a great 'aerobic type' number 'Mickey' by Toni Basil. A hugely popular dance when first introduced, still well loved today.

- 'Royal Rock' by Sadiah Heggernes. 64 count, 2 wall, intermediate level dance. Dance to 'Rock 'n' Roll is King' by Electric Light Orchestra. Nice 'Rock n Roll' dance routine that suits the song well.....a nice dance, destined to become a classic.....

here are the new dances we will be sharing this week.........

- 'Sugar Candy' by Neville Fitzgerald & Julie Harris. 64 counts. 4 walls. Beginner level. No tag, no restart. Danced to the song 'Sugar Sugar' by Inner Circle. An easy to learn and enjoyable dance - should go far.

- 'Quitter' by Maggie Gallagher. 64 counts. 4 walls. Beginner level. One restart. Nice song used - 'Quitter' by Carrie Underwood. Song as strong beats, steps are well choreographed.....

- 'Feel Right' another great dance from Robbie McGowan Hickie. 64 counts. 2 wall. Beginner level. As with most of Robbie's dances, steps are easy, no complications, no tag and no restart. Nice country song 'Feel Right' by Tanya Tucker.

danzbuddies Wednesday Class - new dances

hi danzbuddies,

here are new dances we are sharing on Wednesday.........

- 'Blame It On The Girls' by Kate Sala. 64 counts, 4 walls, intermediate level. No tag, no restart ! Dance to a nice cute number by MIKA - 'Blame It On The Girls'. Dance steps are fairly easy to catch, except perhaps the last two sections.

- 'You're My Baby Girl' by Emily Woo (Canada). 64 counts, 4 walls, intermediate level. One restart. Also note the special ending segment. Great song 'Super Girl' by Super Junior M, the famous boyband originally from S. Korea with members from China, thus the great mix of english and chinese singing. A great dance with some funky hand movements......

- 'Tap Room Boogie' by Robbie McGowan Hickie using a great country number 'Maxine's Tap-Room Boogie' by Travis Kidd. 64 counts, 4 walls, intermediate level. The song is fast, so there is need to focus to keep pace with the dance steps which are really quite easy.

In addition, we shall be doing a 'blast from the past' dance:

- 'Larger Than Life' by Simon Ward. 48 counts, 2 walls, advanced level. Danced to song of the same name by Westlife. A classic, still a popular dance at parties.

here details of new dances we shall be sharing this week :

- 'Xanadu' by Vikki Morris. 32 counts, 2 walls, beginner level. One tag in Wall 6. Nice song by Sharleen Spiterl from her 'The Movie Songbook' album. The dance steps are fairly easy and goes quite well with the lively song.

- 'I Wrote You A Love Letter' by Teresa & Vera. 64 counts. 4 walls. Intermediate level. One restart and one tag. Althgough at 64 counts, the dance is not complicated, steps are easy to catch and goes well with the song, 'Love Letter' by Leona Lewis.

- 'Amor Pasional' by Ria Vos. 64 counts, 4 walls, intermediate level. One restart after wall 3. Song used for the dance is 'Amor Pasional' by Klever Prim. A nice song which goes well with the dance steps. There are a few turns to worry about, but not to worry - they are not too complicated.

danzbuddies Wednesday Class - new dances


Hi danzbuddies,
New dances to be shared this week are as follows:
- 'Crazy Amazing' by Peter & Alison. 32 count, 4 wall, intermediate level.One restart during wall 4. Song is 'Crazy Amazing' by V V Brown. A medium paced dance with fairly easy steps....should not be too much of a problem......
- 'You Silly Boy' by Rep Ghazali. 64 count, 2 wall, intermediate / advanced level. No tag , one restart during the 3rd wall. . Good song - 'Silly Boy' by Eva Simons. Quite a complex choreography, needs some serious effort to master all the 8 sections, but the dance will be worth the while learning - quite enjoyable once you get all the steps required.
- 'Pattycake Waltz' by Crystal Lee. 48 count, 2 wall, beginner level. A very easy waltz dance - song is the old familiar 'How Much Is The Doggie In The Window', a cute song...A good dance to 'de-stress' after the 'You Silly Boy' dance.....

List of dances to be shared this week are as follows:

NEW DANCES:
ALL 3 new dances are from Peter & Alison, The Dance Factory. Mmm, this factory seems quite productive lately....

- ' More Than I Can Be' , 64 count, 2 wall , intermediate level. The song is a fast-beat version of 'You Raise Me Up' by Deja Vu. A great rendition of a wonderful song - for those who are interested here is link to video with the lyrics. The dance is fairly easy, although very fast paced, like an aerobic dance. No tag, restart.....so enjoy.

- 'Be Happy', 64 count, 4 wall, intermediate level. Another nice song - this one 'Don't Worry Be Happy' . Again version used is a faster beat rendition, this one by the Hermes House Band.
Another easy to manage dance, yet not too simple to be boring. Note - there is one tag and restart during wall 5, after 40 counts .

- 'L.O.V.E. Love' , 64 count, 4 wall, beginner level. One restart during wall 3, after count 16.
Although a beginner level dance the dance is fast, so you'll need to stay focused and know the routine well. Song is 'L.O.V.E.' by V V Brown.


We will also do a walk through of Celina & Hoe's dance , 'Here With You', the danced they taught at our National Day Celebration party last Saturday. Watch the video of Celina& Hoe dancing it at our danzbuddies August 8th National Day Celebration Party.

Also to be shared are some favourite old dances like 'L.O.V.E.' , 'Love Love Love' , 'Splish Splash', 'Diana' , 'Mony Mony' and 'Pata Pata' , dances we want to feature at our September party.

danzbuddies Wednesday Class - new dances

Hi danzbuddies,

New dances to be shared this week are as follows:

- 'Operator Cha Cha' another simple yet so enjoyable dance by Darren Baily (he gave us 'Action'). 32 count, 4 wall, beginner level. Nice country 'cha cha' song 'Operator Operator' by Eddy Raven. You'll want to get up and dance to this song!

- 'Vaya Con Dios' a slow waltz dance from Maggie Gallagher. 48 count, 4 wall, beginner level. The song of the same name is by Freddy Fender. A nice, fairly easy dance - there are some full turns, but not too difficult to manage.

- 'Games People Play' from Malaysian choreographer Ms Leong Mei Ling. 64 count, 4 wall, intermediate level. Great 'cha cha beat' song 'Me, Myself and I' by Vitamin C. A challenging dance, but one worth learning.

Here are details about the dance we introduced last Saturday at the Tanglin CC party:

- 'Just Perfection' by Alan Haywood. 32 count, 4 wall, beginner level. The song used is 'Poetry In Motion' by Johnny Tillotson - another 'make-you-wanna-dance' song . Go ahead and do the 'twist' in place of the vine steps........Should enjoy the same success as the other dance we introduced - 'Wanna Dance'

We will also be doing a 'Hawaiian' dance during our August 1st Anniversary Celebration "Hawaiian Nite" party:

- 'Pearly Shells From The Ocean' by Irene Groundwater. 32 count , 2 wall, beginner level. A real easy fun dance, to be done with "Miss Hawaii".......

here are details of new dances to be shared for this week:

- 'Wooly Bully' a beginner level dance from Rob Fowler using the song of the same name. 60 count, 4 wall, no tag, no restart.....should be fun.

- ' 2 Of Us' by Maggie Gallagher, 40 count, 2 wall, intermediate level, 1 Restart, using the Michael Jackson song 'Ben'. Everyone wants to do this dance these days.........there are few elaborate turns - but, not to worry, the music is very slow........a nice enjoyable dance.

- 'I Lied' by Andrew & Sheila. 32 count, 4 wall, intermediate level. Nice song ' 'Said I Love You' by Michael Bolton. Note that there are 2 Restarts and 1 tag. Music is slow, should be manageable.....

- 'Mandolins In The Moonlight' by Karla & Paul Dornstedt. 32 count, 4 wall, beginner level. An easy easy one....you'll like the song and its nice rhumba beat......Remember to do the 4 tags.

Danzbuddies Wednesday Class - New Dances


Hi danzbuddies,


here are dances to be shared this week............


- 'Boris Cha', another simple nice 'cha-cha' dance from our Ipoh friend, Kenny Teh. 32 count, 4 wall, beginner level. Enjoyable cha-cha song used - 'Cha Cha' by Boris. No tag, no restart!


- ' Azer-Bai-Jan', by Maggie Gallagher. 32 count, 4 wall, intermediate level. Song used is one of those Eurovision Competition entries - 'Always' by Aysel & Arash. A few of the steps need some focusing as the music is quite fast. Remember to do the tag (during wall 6, after 18 counts.....).


- ' This Ain't No Cha Cha', another great dance from Peter & Alison. 64 count, 4 wall, intermediate level. Good music, nice, fairly easy steps, slow cha cha.....2 restarts.


We will also bring back and share an old dance:


- 'Wanna Have Fun', by Eva Pau. 40 count, 4 wall, beginner level. Love the Cyndi Lauper song - 'Girls Just Wanna Have Fun'. Good Disco steps to go with this danceable classic...............

- 'That's Right Mambo' from Max Perry. 40 count, 4 wall,, beginner level. Note the tag to be done on walls 3, 4, and 6 - each tag to be done at a different phase on each of these walls. Nice song by Dr. Victor called ' Man Smart, Woman Smarter'.

- 'Go Mama Go' , a new one from Robbie McGowan Hickie and Kate Sala. 64 count, 4 wall, intermediate level, danced to 'Let Your Mama Go' from Ann Tayler. Nice country song.....

- 'Cha Cha' by Peter Ng. 64 count, 4 wall, intermediate level. This seems to be THE dance of the week. Great track from Eugene called 'Cha Cha'

- 'Besame Cha Cha' by Daniel Whittaker. 32 count, 4 wall, intermediate level. Danced to 'Basame' by Andre Ballinas. A simple easy to do 'cha cha' dance.
