Some Very Special Guests

Our jam seesion on 12th December was made Special by the visit of some very special guests.

We were honoured to play host to Choreographer Joenan from Perth, Australia and his wife Nancy (btw, he is Joe Lim and she is Nancy - so together they are JoeNan). Joe is choreograher of many popular dances , among them - 'Party Line Cha', ' That Is Love', 'Yummy Yum Cha Cha' and 'Lady Pocahontas'. In their honour we had put on all these dances for the night and Joe also taught us his other popular dance, 'Nashville'. We thoroughly enjoyed Joenan's company and promised to keep in touch - and also consider making a visit to Perth in 2009!

Also at the jam were local choreographers Celina and Hoe who had been invited to share with us their new dance , 'Teddy Bears Waltz'. This was well liked by all danzbuddies and we congratulated Celina and Hoe for a job well done.

Saturday 13th December was our Christmas Party held in conjunction with Tanglin WEC's

'Yellow Ribbon Charity Drive'.

We were honoured to have , as our Guest of Honour, Rear Admiral (NS) Lui Tuck Yew , Moulmein Constituency MP and Senior Minister of State, Education & Communications, Information and the Arts- who arrived punctually at 4.30 pm, even before many of the line dancers. Never mind this, we got him to join Rosemary, Alice Siew and those danzbuddies present to dance the 'Macarena' - and hey - He Can Dance!

Mr Lui later officiated at the Handing Over Ceremony of items donated to the Highpoint Thrift Shop (run by ex-prisoners). We thank Mr. Lui and all donors who brought so many items for this year's donation drive.

Earlier in the week we taught new dances - 'Cuckoo' , 'El Mismo Tren', 'Lost In Your Eyes' and

'Cupful of Bitter Wine'.
