We had a couple of new members joining us last Sunday, Jan. 11th - in the persons of Nipaporn Merkel also known as "Jazz", originally from Thailand, now living in Singapore at Coronation Road West and Ben Leong who hails from Tiong Bahru. And, as usual, it fell on brother Alan Khoo to help get the new members get into the swing of things and , as usual, he did a good job of it and had both of them grooving away on the dance floor.
On account of Jazz's Thai roots we took the opportunity to include Khoo Kaat and Hot Chilli Cha in our playlist. We also shared with the group the following new dances - 'Keywest' and 'Runaround Sue'
The two-hour session ended with everyone doing our own version of the 'Gong Xi Gong Xi' dance - lots of fun we had....going round and round in circle, changing partners........everyone went away in a happy Lunar New Year mood........
We are taking a break for the Lunar New Year holidays - the Sunday jam sessions will resume on 1st February.
