danzbuddies Mid-Autumn Festival Party - Part 2

Our Line Dance session was called to a halt by the noisy arrival of the dancing Lions which signalled the forthcoming arrival of our Guest of Honour.......

The 'p u r r formance' put up by the two lions really delighted the crowd, especially our NZ guests - even for us danzbuddies, it is not often that we get to be so 'up-close' with these dancing lions.....

It was 6.30 pm - and arriving right on time was our Guest of Honour - RADM (NS) Lui Tuck Yew, Acting Minister and Member of Parliament.

We had him visit the 'Food Hall' first to visit some of our volunteers who were there to demonstrate various F&B art forms.

The Tanglin Indian Activities Executive Committee members showed off their skills in making delicious 'chapati'....

Members of Tanglin CC Tea Club were on hand to demonstrate how to make that great cup of Chinese tea.......

And from the Goldhill Gardening Club, we had Ms. Khatijah demonstrating how to weave a malay 'ketupat' using coconut leaves - a fast dying art..........sad to say.

Next stop, it was the Main Hall for our VIPs, where the big crowd was waiting......

The MC warmly welcomed everyone and make the announcement for the start of the curtain-opener - an 'International Fashion Parade' put up by the children from San Yu Adventist School

This was followed by a photography session with the Guest of Honour, who was then led by the 'International Models' to the Tanglin CC Courtyard for dinner.....
